How does Bernstein set the gait of a turkey to music, and why does he quote Beethoven in the Divertimento from the 5th? What is the reason why a tenor horn stands so prominently at the beginning of the 7th Mahler? What significance do the Jewish elements have in Weinberg's musical language?
Thomas Heißbauer, formerly a horn player himself and for many years a professional musician in the Mozarteumorchester and the Camerata Salzburg, would like to intensify the dialogue between musicians and audience and thereby put the compositions in the centre of attention. With selected listening examples and interesting guests and orchestra colleagues, an exchange about listening experiences and professional knowledge, orchestra traditions and different demands is created. New perspectives open up. As if viewed through a kaleidoscope, the knowledge of music is broken up into its individual parts and reassembled in a more colourful and beautiful way.
