Gustav Mahler's 4th Symphony concludes the triad of the "Wunderhorn Symphonies". According to Mahler, the spirituality of the "Resurrection Symphony" and the nature mysticism of the "Third" are followed by "a symphonic humoresque, and there I got the normal measure of a symphony out of it." Even the "normal measure" results in one hour of sonorous narratives about life, about God and the world. In the composer's most melodic, chamber symphony, the childlike tone of the song "We enjoy the heavenly joys" became the program in the finale. It is the vision of paradise, in contrast to the real world with its bitter sides. It is proclaimed by the young Hungarian soprano Réka Kristóf, at the podium of the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra is its permanent conductor Róbert Farkas, who is also very successful in Germany. The guests from our neighboring country will perform music from their homeland. Among the masterpieces of Zoltán Kodály are the variations on the folk song "Ein Pfau ist aufgeflogen" (A peacock has flown up), artful music that reflects the vastness, melancholy and joie de vivre of Magyar landscapes and folk tunes.
