The first New Year's concert will be given by the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra in the Great Festival Hall. The orchestra with a long tradition has already welcomed guest conductors such as Lovro von Matacic, Lorin Maazel, Valery Gergiev and Dmitrij Kitaenko. This time, their principal conductor, David Danzmayr from Salzburg, who has been conducting the orchestra since 2016, will be on the podium. Under his baton, the first hours of 2020 will be dedicated to "Strauss". The New Year's Concert audience can look forward to an atmospheric programme, with musical pieces by Johann Strauss' son, the Rosenkavalier Suite by Richard Strauss and his Concerto for Oboe and Orchestra, in which Salzburg oboist Clara Dent will play the solo part.
