After detailed discussions, the Salzburger Chorverband has decided to postpone the 20th anniversary celebration year to 2021 due to the corona-related rehearsal ban and the lack of preparation time. This includes the gala concert "Salzburg bist du großer Töne", planned in cooperation with Salzburger Kulturvereinigung, which will be postponed from October 18, 2020 to October 3, 2021. The following applies to the 2021 evening gala concert in the Grosses Festspielhaus: 300 choir singers* and the 70-musician orchestra of the Salzburg Cultural Association will set a brilliant example of our flourishing choral scene.

5020 Salzburg
Helmut Zeilner, Regional Choir Director of the Salzburg Choir Association and Director of the Orchestra of the Salzburg Cultural Association, brings together around 500 singers and musicians for this unique project in the Great Festival Hall on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the choir association. This is the highlight of the anniversary programme 2020, which will be preceded by six "Burgsingen" in the districts, a mass in the cathedral and the "Plätzesingen" and will impressively stage the enthusiasm of the Salzburgers for singing. In the evening concert, choral works by Händel, Mozart and Strauss, as well as Beethoven's "Freude schöner Götterfunken" will be heard in the Great Festival Hall.
For 20 years, the Chorverband Salzburg has stood for a self-confident choral scene. Its mission is always to convey cultural diversity and to fire the enthusiasm for singing. Salzburg currently has over 400 choirs with 10,000 singers. Since its foundation, the Chorverband Salzburg has established itself as a dynamic and innovative representative of its choirs.
