MARTIN FRÖST Clarinet

Martin Fröst, the exceptional Swedish clarinettist, performs what is probably the greatest and most moving of all clarinet concertos. With this work, Wolfgang Amadé Mozart not only created a piece of the highest classical perfection, but also opened the gates to Romanticism wide open. The oeuvre of the great Czech composer Antonín Dvořák is one of the highlights of the Romantic period. His sparkling Carnival Overture is a delight, as is the marvellous Eighth Symphony, which combines harmonic mastery with the melodic magic and irresistible dance mood of Slavic music. The Slovakian Philharmonic Orchestra from Bratislava and its Russian chief conductor Daniel Raiskin, who is also acclaimed as a violist, stand for this.
