The percussion concerto ‘Frozen in Time’ by Avner Dorman, one of the most important Israeli composers of our time, is a sonorous journey through African, European and Asian music. Vivi Vassileva, winner of the Leonard Bernstein Award 2023, is a young percussion star and will perform this highly virtuoso piece with the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra and its young chief conductor David Runtz from Poland. Before and after that, we head north, where the eternally young Romanticism awaits us. With ‘Finlandia’, Jean Sibelius created national music of international renown, while the Norwegian Edvard Grieg's splendid incidental music for Henrik Ibsen's Faust-like drama ‘Peer Gynt’ is a constantly captivating series of unforgettable musical images.
