When the brilliant and versatile Mozarteumorchester Salzburg, the internationally acclaimed Bachchor Salzburg, three youth choirs and a young solo vocal trio led by Rafael Fingerlos, the baritone world star from Lungau, take to the podium, when maestro Carlo Benedetto Cimento, highly successful at the Salzburger Landestheater, raises his baton, there is no doubt that a great choral-orchestral work is on the programme. Carl Orff's ‘Carmina Burana’, an arrangement of mostly Latin medieval vagrant songs originally intended for the stage, is a work full of Bavarian sensuality, catchy melodies and a bouncy rhythm that is impossible to resist.
