Operas in Bavarian

Mozart, Strauss and Wagner in a different way!  In the "Operas in Bavarian" the author Paul Schallweg has cast the content of world-famous and popular operas into original dialect verses. The scenery of the operas is mostly relocated to the Bavarian countryside, so that, for example, "Der fliagade Holländer" does not experience its adventures off the rough coast of Norway, but in native regions on Lake Starnberg. The music to these Bavarian opera parodies never loses sight of the opera original, but in a very charming way also allows Alpine and Bavarian sounds to flow into the compositions. Thus it is not uncommon for a Bavarian double to mix with famous opera arias, or for the triumphal march from Verdi's opera Aida to merge in an amusing way with the popular song "Ja, mir san mit'm Radl da"... Operas in Bavarian - a highly amusing and entertaining opera evening of a somewhat different kind, on which no eye is guaranteed to stay dry...
