To celebrate its 60th anniversary, the Orchestra of the Salzburg Cultural Association will play your request concert from the highlights of the last 6 decades. In 2022, the tradition-steeped Orchestra of the Salzburg Cultural Association celebrates its 60th anniversary. Based on the idea of giving Salzburg an amateur orchestra again after 24 years, the orchestra was founded by Gustav Gruber on October 10, 1962 and incorporated into the Salzburger Kulturvereinigung. The conductor and professor for viola at the Mozarteum made it his goal to train amateur musicians from various professions in chamber music and to give young musicians their first great soloistic stage successes. His efforts were supported by numerous other dedicated artistic directors with different focuses such as Johannes Hawranek, Rolf Ostheim, Franz Richter-Herf, Walter Raninger, Wolfgang Danzmayr, Stephan Aichinger and Günther Passin, among others. Since 2014, Helmut Zeilner has been in charge of the orchestra, which consists of qualified music lovers and professional musicians. The orchestra of the Salzburger Kulturvereinigung is still regarded as an integrative platform for musicians from the amateur sector for further training in the symphonic field and gives interested parties the opportunity to bring their orchestral skills to the stage.
