Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov enjoyed exploring the Orient and created an enduring symphonic monument to Princess Scheherazade, who saved herself with adventurous stories from a thousand and one life-threatening nights; this is a sounding novel with unforgettable motives. The tour guide is the Finn Santtu-Matias Rouvali, one of the great conductor personalities of the younger generation. He leads the travel-loving and famous Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, of which he is the chief conductor.
