And Eduard Hanslick rejoiced in his review about the "spring-blooming earth" to which Johannes Brahms had turned after the abysses of his "First". On this evening, we hear the "Second" after the violin concerto by his friend Robert Schumann. The Norwegian Vilde Frang is undoubtedly one of the most celebrated violinists of our time, a strong personality with charisma and perfect virtuosity. She now performs the concerto, one of Schumann's last works, published long after the composer's death and filled with resounding poetry and visionary harmonies. Maestro Alain Altinoglu and the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra are the top-class accompanists in these scores.
