Within the framework of the Salzburger Kulturtage, the Salzburg Cathedral regularly becomes a performance venue for extraordinary musical masses. They are seldom on the program of classical concerts, and mass compositions are not suitable for liturgical use because of their length. Under the direction of Cathedral Kapellmeister János Czifra, the last of Anton Bruckner's five masses to be composed, the Third in F minor, will be heard in Salzburg Cathedral in 2021. This mass, which Bruckner revised four times between 1876 and 1893, became one of the most popular choral works of the Romantic period after Bruckner's death.
