Musik:Kaleidoskop "Schostakowitsch - 10" CANCELLED

How does Bernstein set the walk of a turkey to music and why does he quote Beethoven in the Divertimento from the 5th? Is the death of Stalin to be understood as the trigger for the creation of Shostakovich's 10th Symphony and as a reckoning with the dictator? What is special about Strauss' sunrise in "Also sprach Zarathustra"? What is the significance of the prepared piano in John Adam's "Total Fun" and why does he quote from Beethoven's 7th Symphony, among others?

Thomas Heißbauer, formerly a horn player himself and for many years a professional musician in the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg and in the Camerata Salzburg, would like to intensify the dialogue between musicians and audience, focusing on the compositions. With selected listening examples and interesting guests and orchestra colleagues, an exchange about listening experiences and professional knowledge, orchestral traditions and different demands will be created. New perspectives open up. As if viewed through a kaleidoscope, knowledge about music is broken up into individual parts, and put back together again in a more colorful and beautiful way.
